Q – I hear you are doing updates! When is the update to [insert style here] going to happen?
A – updates are released as they are completed depending on how much time I have available, and what else I am working on. If a product has been updated, you will be able to receive a new copy by visiting the redelivery terminal in the Slink Mainstore. If a product has transactions that are not registered in the redelivery terminal, there will be an update board on the product display. If you purchase an item *after* it is updated, you already have the most recent version and do not need to collect another.
Q – I bought shoes from you but they appear to be incomplete! No alpha layer, no shoe base, and they don’t fit my SL feet?
A – I am moving away from making shoes for the SL avatar default feet. They are difficult to design nice shoes around. If a shoe is labelled as “addon” it requires the Slink Flat, Medium or High rigged mesh barefeet which are currently available in the Slink Mainstore. If you own them, you do not need to buy them again!
I don’t provide demos for fun, they are there so that customers can know exactly what they are buying and if there is anything the product is dependent on. Please try demos and read notecards carefully for information about your Slink purchases. I cannot give refunds for buyers remorse if no demo has been tried before buying the product!
Q -My Slink product disappears when I move my camera away
A – Since the implementation of Mesh import in Second Life, I have attempted to address this issue through the use of LOD meshes, however you can increase your LOD to see the sculpts properly – read here for instructions.
Q – My feet/hands still don’t match even though I have entered the exact RGB of my blender layer, and am using the same texture number!
A – Your graphics settings are important to being able to properly see your Second Life Avatar. Please go to Viewer Preferences, Graphics and enable Basic and Atmospheric shaders. If enabling these settings causes you to drop in framerate, ensure water reflections is turned off, and shadows are turned off. If these shaders are greyed out, your video card does not support them. You may need to update your drivers, or replace your video card with one that supports minimum SL graphics requirements.
Q – I create Skins/Nails/Stockings/Shoes. Can my products be part of the Avatar Enhancement System?
A – Absolutely, there is an application form on the Developers page. More information about the system and what is included and requested of applicants is contained in this page.
Q – Can I use your feet in other people’s shoes?
A – Yes. My foot shapes are available to shoe makers to use as a base for their own creations. If you own the Avatar Enhancement feet, you can use addon shoes from any participating store. I cannot guarantee that shoes from any non-participating store will fit the Avatar Enhancement feet. You can find a list of participating shoe makers here
Q – Can I buy a set of your feet fullperm so I can add them to my own shoe creations?
A – No. My foot shapes (only) are available to be built around in external modelling programs. That way you get to make the shoes (the fun part), while I do the support and development of the feet. More information can be found here
Q – I have been griefed/harassed in your store.
A – Unfortunately some people have nothing better to do with their time than make other people’s lives uncomfortable. If someone attacks you verbally using any form of harassment, discriminiation or hate speech, I urge you to submit an Abuse Report to Linden Lab using the in-browser “Report Abuse” function. If someone has rezzed prims or prim/particle generators designed for griefing in my store, please report it to Slink Management at email@example.com
Q – Can I have your HUD scripts, or can you tell me where you got your scripts so that I can use them in my own shoe/feet creations?
A – The Slink HUD is not available for sale.
Q – I really need a [insert item here]. Can you make it custom for me please?
A – I cannot accept custom work at this time.
Q – I really want to wear (x product) but it’s standard sizing and I don’t want to change my shape, can you customise it?
A – I’m sorry but I cannot accept custom work at this time.
Q – I like your feet but they are too big/small for my avatar. Can you change the size of the feet for me?
A – No. Because my feet are now released for others to build around, I cannot change the size or shape of the feet without impacting on other creators who are relying on my product to be consistent.
Q – There’s a sorry lack of [insert product idea here] in SL. When are you going to make it?
A – I have a lengthy to-do list. If you have an idea for a product, please feel free to submit it to me, but please keep in mind that the idea may never make it to release, depending on my time, and whether I find it suitable to add to the Slink brand. I cannot pay commission on submitted ideas.
Q – I want to learn Blender/Zbrush/Photoshop/etc. Can you teach me please?
A – I am sorry but my time does not allow me to give lessons in these programs any longer. I am a member of the Blender and Zbrush groups in SL, if you have questions pertaining to these programs I suggest you ask there and someone (if not myself) should be able to help you. I am (very slowly) adding tutorials relevant to creating in SL to my Youtube Channel
