Please don’t post support questions here, this is not a support channel and they will not be answered!

Q – I hear you are doing updates!  When is the update to [insert style here] going to happen?

A – updates are released as they are completed depending on how much time I have available, and what else I am working on.  If a product has been updated, you will be able to receive a new copy by visiting the redelivery terminal in the Slink Mainstore.  If a product has transactions that are not registered in the redelivery terminal, there will be an update board on the product display.  If you purchase an item *after* it is updated, you already have the most recent version and do not need to collect another.

Q – I have been griefed/harassed in your store.

A – Unfortunately some people have nothing better to do with their time than make other people’s lives uncomfortable. If someone attacks you verbally using any form of harassment, discriminiation or hate speech, I urge you to submit an Abuse Report to Linden Lab using the in-browser “Report Abuse” function. If someone has rezzed prims or prim/particle generators designed for griefing in my store, please report it to Slink Management at slinkhelp@gmail.com

Q – I bought shoes from you but they appear to be incomplete! No alpha layer, no shoe base, and they don’t fit my SL feet?

A – I am moving away from making shoes for the SL avatar default feet. They are difficult to design nice shoes around.  If a shoe is labelled as “addon” it requires the Slink Flat, Medium or High rigged mesh barefeet which are currently available in the Slink Mainstore.  If you own them, you do not need to buy them again!

I don’t provide demos for fun, they are there so that customers can know exactly what they are buying and if there is anything the product is dependent on.  Please try demos and read notecards carefully for information about your Slink purchases.  I cannot give refunds for buyers remorse if no demo has been tried before buying the product!

Q -My Slink product disappears when I move my camera away

A – Since the implementation of Mesh import in Second Life, I have attempted to address this issue through the use of LOD meshes, however you can increase your LOD to see the sculpts properly – read here for instructions.

Q – My feet/hands still don’t match even though I have entered the exact RGB of my blender layer, and am using the same texture number!

A – Your graphics settings are important to being able to properly see your Second Life Avatar. Please go to Viewer Preferences, Graphics and enable Basic and Atmospheric shaders.  If enabling these settings causes you to drop in framerate, ensure water reflections is turned off, and shadows are turned off. If these shaders are greyed out, your video card does not support them.  You may need to update your drivers, or replace your video card with one that supports minimum SL graphics requirements.

Q – How do I use these newfangled applier things?

A – If your skin comes with Slink Appliers, you can get a perfect match with your hands and feet at the press of a single button! No more messing about with tints and textures and windlight settings. All you need to do is wear the “Avatar Enhancement” Hands or Feet (packaged along with the regular hands and feet) and wear the HUD supplied by the skin maker. Press the button on the HUD and voila, matching hands/feet.  You can find more information here – and included in the package with the hands and feet.

Q – I create Skins/Nails/Stockings/Shoes. Can my products be part of the Avatar Enhancement System?

A – Absolutely, there is an application form on the Developers page.  More information about the system and what is included and requested of applicants is contained in this page.

Q – can I buy a modifiable version of the feet (or any no-mod product) so I can change it/add my own textures/set it to fullbright?

A – No

Q – Can I use your feet in other people’s shoes?

A – Yes. My foot shapes are available to shoe makers to use as a base for their own creations. If you own the Avatar Enhancement feet, you can use addon shoes from any participating store. I cannot guarantee that shoes from any non-participating store will fit the Avatar Enhancement feet.  You can find a list of participating shoe makers here

Q – Can I buy a set of your feet fullperm so I can add them to my own shoe creations?

A – No.  My foot shapes (only) are available to be built around in external modelling programs. That way you get to make the shoes (the fun part), while I do the support and development of the feet.  More information can be found here

Q – Can I have your HUD scripts, or can you tell me where you got your scripts so that I can use them in my own shoe/feet creations?

A – The Slink HUD is not available for sale.

Q – I really need a [insert item here]. Can you make it custom for me please?

A – I cannot accept custom work at this time.

Q – I really want to wear (x product) but it’s standard sizing and I don’t want to change my shape, can you customise it?

A – I’m sorry but I cannot accept custom work at this time.

Q – I like your feet but they are too big/small for my avatar. Can you change the size of the feet for me?

A – No. Because my feet are now released for others to build around, I cannot change the size or shape of the feet without impacting on other creators who are relying on my product to be consistent.

Q – There’s a sorry lack of [insert product idea here] in SL. When are you going to make it?

A – I have a lengthy to-do list. If you have an idea for a product, please feel free to submit it to me, but please keep in mind that the idea may never make it to release, depending on my time, and whether I find it suitable to add to the Slink brand.  I cannot pay commission on submitted ideas.

Q – I want to learn Blender/Zbrush/Photoshop/etc.  Can you teach me please?

A – I am sorry but my time does not allow me to give lessons in these programs any longer. I am a member of the Blender and Zbrush groups in SL, if you have questions pertaining to these programs I suggest you ask there and someone (if not myself) should be able to help you.  I am (very slowly) adding tutorials relevant to creating in SL to my Youtube Channel

Q – Can I remove the scripts from my Slink shoes/feet?

A – no, the scripts can’t be removed from the Slink shoes.  My shoes and feet (if scripted) contain a single, very low runtime script. I no longer include an animation in my newer shoe products.  Please ensure not to wear any associated HUDs when out and about, as this will contribute to lag issues.

    Hi!

I absolutely love all my SLink shoes. Your prim toes are my very favorite purchase in over 3 years in SL!

I do have one question. Will you offer the alpha layer for your shoes/boots/prim toes? It would be so wonderful if I could pick up a box the alpha layers to use for your shoes/boots/feet instead of the invisi-prims.

Thanks so much for your great artistry!

Hi, unfortunately it’s not as simple as just giving a box of alpha layers, if that’s all it was, people could make their own. I need to update the styles to include the scripted invisiprim toggles and new single script system. I’m doing them as I have time, but time is not readily available at the moment. I will announce each update here as I do them so please check back often :)

I just bought the SLink Lulu Stilettos in black, and adore them. However, the alpha layer seems to run too high up the leg, and shows an invisible area between the shoe/foot and leg. If I edit and raise the shoe, it shorten my leg… is there a way to alter the alpha so it’s not so high on the leg?

    Thanks for a great product!
    Annie

  4. Siddean July 17, 2011 at 5:04 PM

Hi Annie, raising the shoe to meet the alpha layer shouldn’t shorten your leg beyond what would be acceptable for that style. I tried to contact you in world, but you haven’t posted here under your SL name so no results came up. Can you please contact me (Siddean Munro) inworld to chat about this problem? Thanks.

My feet are showing through the shoes, like I don’t have invisiprims (they are not listed in the items in the folder). I can’t adjust the shoes to fit my feet to cover them and my feet are set at 0. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  6. Siddean July 20, 2011 at 12:51 PM

Hi Tashi, the latest Slink feet (Lulu, Shaz, Sheila) do not have invisiprims, as there is only one legacy viewer remaining that doesn’t support the use of Alpha Layers (SL 1.x). I will send you an optional set of invisiprims that you can wear on your legs, and I recommend that you look into switching to a viewer that at least supports alpha and tattoo layers like the Phoenix viewer.

I purchased a pair of Shaz Platform and I really love them… I am having one issue though, the nail polish colors are off. When I click on white, I get green… seems green is like a base color and all the other colors are off…. I will try and contact you in world for help… thanks…

  8. Siddean August 26, 2011 at 5:22 PM

Hi Sweetdeb, I think you have solved this, but incase anyone else has the problem, just wear the Nail tinting HUD and set the colour to white :)

Hello ! I bought the new meshed barefeet, but I can´t find a way to hide the original avatar feet, In this case I can see 4 feet. I´m using viewer 2. Thank you !

  10. Siddean December 14, 2011 at 4:48 PM

There is an alpha layer included in the box with the feet. Invisiprims are no longer used in my products :) If you don’t have an alpha layer, you can contact me for one, or pick one up in the demo

If I wear the alpha for the hands, the alpha for the feet disappears. It appears that i can only wear one alpha at a time. What do I do if I want to wear hands and feet?

  12. Siddean April 8, 2012 at 1:07 AM

Certain older viewers only allow one layer to be worn instead of the multiples we enjoy in newer viewers. If you would contact me inworld, I can arrange to send you an alpha texture to add to your foot alpha for the hands.

Regarding the “Can I use your feet in other people’s shoes?” Q and the negative A, I have to say that I wear my Slink feet with non-Slink shoes quite often (I’m male, by and by) and have no problems. It just takes a few adjustments and modifications to the shoes (IF they are modifiable) and a little patience :) Buy a cheap pair or a freebie and experiment.

  14. Siddean September 13, 2012 at 9:01 PM

Thanks for the feedback! :) I’m glad that you’re able to wear your Slink feet in other shoes, it certainly makes them more wearable! My FAQ is only negative because I can’t make any guarantees that the feet will fit. The best idea is to do as you have done and experiment!

Hello, I recently bought Slink Destiny Heels Black and I’m having a issue with the shoe sharper attachment. I can see little loose feet sculpture going through the back of the heel stem. I adjusted the shoe size to fit on leg, my feet set to 0 and, graphics set to high. Can I please receive assistance in-world ?

    SL Username: Koquise Zerbino
    Display name: Kookie

    Thank you!

  16. Siddean April 9, 2013 at 12:35 AM

Hi Koquise, I am sorry I didn’t see this comment earlier, comments in my blog tend not to be the best place to reach me for product assistance, I prefer direct contact in world by IM or notecard :) I will contact you asap and sort this out.

Hi I have a question I just bought this nail hud for my slink hands but it work with it .. it was the eskimo fashion hud from the cosmetics fair an also I wanna know is it possible to have long stiletto nails on your gesture hands because I seen someone with them an they lookeds pretty cool I believe that roksana p. panche has some like it

  18. Siddean April 17, 2013 at 10:22 AM

Huds created by other brands for the Enhancement System only work on the Enhancement Hands and Feet. Please see this page http://blog.slinkstyle.com/the-slink-avatar-enhancement-system-customer-information/ for more info.

I just bought the Slink hands and know they are lovely as I have tried them on. But even though I have a skin applier that came with my skin I can never seem to get the wrist attachment the same tinit as the the rest of the hand. And there is always a small gap between the attachment and my avatar’s arm regardless of how many times I try to fix it. :( Therefore I gave up on wearing them which is a shame since they are so pretty.

  20. Siddean June 18, 2013 at 12:48 AM

Hi Raven, thank you for leaving a comment. We have contacted you inworld to hopefully sort them out for you :)

  21. Lore July 19, 2013 at 10:22 AM

Why is there no information on how to use the hands? I just bought a fatpack of hands in the shop but they will not work for me. The skin presets are nothing like the picture (the white skin tint produces a dark tan-purple colour) and even though I bought an applier HUD from my skin designer it won’t work. I just bought these today, in-world, so I’d assume they are the newest available and designed to work with appliers…what’s going on???

  22. Raven Serrurier October 5, 2013 at 6:27 AM

    thank you :)

  23. Christie Romano (@1ChristieRomano) November 16, 2013 at 8:49 PM

I too have just purchased a fat pack of male hands. They look great, but I would like to make a suggestion.
Would it be possible to add a change hand style button to the hud. So if you buy the fatpak like me ;) when you wear the hud you can change hands? and would automaticly change texture which i set to default?

But I have to say I love them,

    Christie

  24. Siddean December 11, 2013 at 11:52 PM

Christie, I would love to, but it’s 30 hands in all, 28 of them would be alphaed out, and that’s a lot of polygons for something that is unseen. I am rather reluctant to have people wearing all that mesh, and all those scripts around SL. It’s a drain on resources and could cause issues for people I’d rather avoid. It’s in my mind though, so I may come up with a better solution. :)

Hello, I’m wondering if you have sock and glove layers available for blending instead of tattoos?

  26. Siddean May 19, 2014 at 10:06 PM

Hello, please contact Slink Resident (Slink Official Customer Support) for help.
